25 year Rum
This is what a glass of $50, 25 year old sipping rum looks like. Rich, spicy, full bodied...simply amazing.
Wienerschnitzel from Van Breugels, Nassau, Bahamas
Best wienerschnitzel I've ever had. Just Amazing. Van Breugels is the only place we visited twice. The first time the service was quite outstanding, the second, not so much, but the food was still quite amazing. Super amazingly highly recommended.
Nassau Fish Fry
Conch fritters from the Nassau fish fry. Cheapest eats in town. Takes a while to get your food, but for $7 for 6 conch fritters and a side of fries isn't too bad.

New gig
Andrew over at HelenaScene.com has asked me to do a food column for his new website...so, nice! I'll link the articles when they're up next year. Seems like fun.
McDonald's Cheddar Bacon Onion
Even with the McRib back in action, I think McDonald's new CBO sandwiches are one of their best yet. I have yet to try the beef version, but the Chicken CBO is great, for fast food. The bacon actually has a bit of substance to it, rather than a thin, limp slice. Caramelized grilled onions, white cheddar, and a creamy mustard sauce top it off. I would really like a chipotle mustard sauce version of this, as I LOVE chipotle. (The pepper, not the chain).

Pig Out In The Park - 2012
Sno-cone, deep fried Snicker's and Pop-Tart, Breakfast at the amazing Madeline's, Baja Babe's Shrimp Tacos, Big Daddy's BBQ sandwich, and the girls at Churchill's.
Fancy Eats! Wild Sage and Churchill's
Wild Sage, located in Spokane, Washington, is one of the finest restaurants I've eaten in. Started off with some Taquitos with housemade sriracha, moved on to an arugula salad with goat cheese and blueberries, and had Breast of Duckling - pan seared, hazel nut brown butter, house gnocchi & roasted vegetabe saute, cider gastrique.
Next up we went to Churchill's steak house. Another winner. Aimee and I shared a crab cocktail for an appetizer, and I had a filet with garlic mash for dinner.
If in Spokane, and in need of a fine dinner, you can't go wrong with either.
Angry Ginger BBQ
My man, Sean from Lucca's, dropped off some of his insane smelling Anger Ginger BBQ sauce. I can't wait to get home and slather this over anything I can find.

Hudson's - Coeur d'Alene, Idaho
Up for Idaho's best burger? Stop by Hudson's, a 100+ year old eatery, located in downtown Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They serve three things: burgers, pie, and soda. Pull up to one of the dozen or so stools and get yourself a double cheeseburger topped with only pickle and onion. Choose from Spicy mustard, spicy ketchup, or ketchup to top your expertly flattop cooked burgers. Similar to a smashed burger, they have a crisp outer texture with a juicy inside. I'd recommend the spicy mustard, or just leave it plain and bask in the simple burger joy.

Helena's best new lunch
Owner, Kathy Prendergast
photo by Eliza Wiley, Helena IR
Papa Tony's is one of the best new restaurants in town. Offering homemade Italian sandwiches and soups until 4pm (so far), this is some of the best of most loving food in town. I've been taking in the combo with an Italian Sausage patty and a handful of meatballs with their homemade vesuvio sauce and a choice of sweet, mild, or hot peppers. I tend to stick with the hot peppers, with an abundance of flavor and a proper heat setting it really knocks it out of the park. You get a choice of a bag of chips with your sandwich and the whole lunch, without drink, will run you $7.50-$8.50 for a massive sandwich. Her homemade soups are also quite delectable and vary from day to day, not to mention Kathy is quite the sweetheart.
Find your way up there soon, and tell them I sent you!
